Sandy Newman acts as general manager and keeps the business running. As the wife of Chef John, Sandy has been involved in the restaurant business for many years. Sous Chef Steven Alldrin is a 2006 graduate of the Oregon Culinary Institute in Portland. He comes to Newmans via the Wayfarer Restaurant where he was the Lead Line Cook. This is Steven’s second tour of Newmans at 988, his first being from May 2008 to June 2009. In addition to Newmans and the Wayfarer, he has previously worked on the Kona Coast on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Pastry Chef Nancy Williams is also a graduate of Western Culinary Institute, Portland. She is a fourth generation Clatsop County resident who trained with Chef John at the Stephanie Inn. Nancy is overseeing desserts at both restaurants.

Sous Chef Faitha Hearing is a graduate of the Western Culinary Institute, Portland and has worked with Bon Appetite and Red Robin. Faitha completed her externship with Martin Hospitality, working under Chef John at the Stephanie Inn. She has recently crossed trained for Front of the House work as well as helping with the bookkeeping.

Serving you at both locations is our Lead Server Wyndy Stephensen who has been at Newmans since it opened in 2006 and will be helping oversee the Front of House staff at FISHES. Wyndy has worked as bartender, catering manager and server at several locations throughout Clatsop County.

Our newest Sous Chef, Jason Alldrin comes to TeamNewman via Maggies on the Prom in Seaside. His experience and love is for Asian Cuisnes which is a perfect fit for the new FISHES Sushi and Japanese Cuisine. After graduating from the Western Culinary Institure in Portland Jason worked at Fujimama’s Restaurant and Sushi bar on the Big Island of Hawaii.
